About Sarca

Hi, I’m Sarca. Pleased to meet you!

Caught Me Gaming is the place where I play and review games on the casual side – hidden object, adventure and puzzle; Some that are forgotten gems or more obscure.

More recently, I have been spreading my gaming wings by starting to incorporate more hardcore games into the roster, including Alan Wake, Borderlands and Mass Effect. You will often find me playing games with my gamer husband, Buried On Mars.

By day, I am an Assistive Technology professional in Higher Education, working with students with disabilities.

By night, I am usually found playing game, watching documentaries, knitting or doing any of the million of things I am into, usually while listening to music. This blog is intended to capture all of this in one way or another.

…And yes, I do it all with my contigo of coffee close by (Perked, black. Thanks for asking!), but not above drinking coffee out of a Tim’s cup (R-r-r-roll Up the Rim!!).

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Sarca

  1. Just found your blog through the 101 Books post. I’ve been encouraging my sixteen-year-old son to start a blog about video games–his passion–so I’ve sent him a link to your blog so he can see that you just got started! He says there are so many video game blogs out there…I think he’s intimidated. He just has to find his own voice.

    Keep up the good work!

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m far away from 16, lol, but I do like video games. I know there are a lot of blogs out there…I just take it one post at a time. 🙂

  2. The “follow” button popped up for me again. No idea why! But anyway, do you have a twitter account? I’ve been trying to start up one for my own site, and thought it’ll be real encouraging to have everyone on it :>

    1. Weird about the follow button…are you logged into WordPress when it pops up? That happens for me if I’m logged out…

I do have a twitter account, but it’s personal (not affiliated with Caught Me Gaming), and I’m hardly ever on twitter these days. I may consider one for the blog in the future. It’s posting things to twitter and following the twittersphere that I’m not too good about. I’d look out for you if and when I surface, though 🙂

      1. Yes I am! Haha, strange. But thankfully I’m still seeing your posts in my Reader.

Haha, I find posting to twitter rather awkward too-strange how some people do it so naturally. Oh well, we’ll stay updated with wordpress then! 🙂

        1. I’m not partial to Keurig (but again, will partake if no other choices). I grind and perc my own every morning, but I’m a ‘fee luddite among the K-cups and drip coffee makers it seems…

  3. I just finished a chocolate raspberry truffle coffee.

    Un-frickin-believable.

Tastes just exactly like you think it should taste by the name. What a great weekend coffee.

    1. And that’s prolly what I’d have a Keurig for – flavours! French vanil, butterscotch, choco, and my fav – Irish creme. I could get these flavours, but they’re already ground, which doesn’t bode well with my perc (you need a coarser ground with percolators so you don’t get your coffee full of grounds). Hmmm, I feel a Sarca coffee hack coming on…

        1. I’ve tried the Nespresso at the Bay (Conestoga Mall, ftw!). Terrible coffee. The woman was so proud of the product, and I didn’t have the heart to tell her it was the worst product I had ever tasted.

            1. Yes, and the beans come from the Swiss alps or some such bs. Makes for a good drain cleaner. Don’t drink it if you have an ulcer…or colitis…
Gee, these reviews write themselves! lol

            2. Only my opinion… I am not an everyman with coffee, but can say I would not refuse a Keurig coffee if one should pass under my nose…

  4. Hi Sarca, Donna (Kevin’s ex-babysitter/neighbour). Thanks for the follow and I’m now following your blog.
I game casually but my 16 year old Aspie is hardcore. I’ve shown him your blog because I’ve told him he should blog about it (instead of telling me all day because they info rattles around my head and can’t always find a suitable home).
Nice to virtually meet you. All my best. 🙂

    1. Hi Donna,
You might want to tell your son about Kevin’s YouTube channel, Buried On Mars (www.youtube.com/user/BuriedOnMars), where he reviews games. It’s a lot of fun.

  5. Hey Sarca, mind if I ask you a question? A month ago I changed my my wordpress.com site over to a self hosted site. I transferred my wordpress followers over (you are one of course!) and I was wondering: do you still receive notifications from WordPress reader about my new blogs? I’m curious, as I saw you had followed my site again! I’m afraid transferring to wordpress.org meant that followers don’t get updates anymore! Thanks, Yvonne

    1. Hi Yvonne, periodically WP spontaneously unfollows me from people’s blogs, (or it’s me!) But I was checking in and realized I hadn’t seen anything from you lately. Turns out I had been unfollowed. It’s peculiar for sure! So I followed you again this weekend. So to answer you question, no I haven’t been getting your updates, but only because I wasn’t following you for a bit. It has been longer than a month, I think.

      1. Thanks for getting back to me! You know, my visitors fell some 30% after the day of the move…now I know why. Thanks for following again, not sure though if you’ll get notifications again too for my blogs. I’ve read somewhere wordpress.com followers can only get notification if they register by email…they don’t make it easy!
